Conference on Cell & Gene Therapy for HIV Cure

August 22-23, 2019

Marriott Residence Inn Seattle, Downtown/Convention Center
Seattle, Washington | USA

The defeatHIV Martin Delaney Collaboratory, in collaboration with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, the University of Washington Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) and the University of Washington Virology Division, are pleased to host the 5th Conference on Cell & Gene Therapy for HIV Cure in Seattle, Washington on August 22-23, 2019. The event will be held at the Marriott Residence Inn Seattle Downtown/Convention Center.

Born out of the desire to bring much needed attention to HIV cell and gene therapies, this conference aims to advance the pursuit of an HIV cure by bringing together an international roster of esteemed scientists to share and review the latest cell and gene therapy approaches targeting HIV.

We look forward to building on the success of the first four conferences, held annually from 2014-2017, and invite HIV and cell and gene therapy researchers, clinicians, young investigators and trainees including pre- and post-doctoral fellows, to participate. Scholarships are available to trainees. We also continue to partner with community advocates, including HIV community advisory board (CAB) members, and are pleased to offer a limited number of community scholarships and volunteer opportunities.

Ending HIV/AIDS will take a multi-platform approach. It will require prevention, development of a vaccine, and curative therapies. As such, defeatHIV looks forward to hosting this international gathering in 2019 designed to foster scientific collegiality and to continue to build the important scientific collaborations and community relationships that are critical to solving one of the greatest puzzles of global health in human history.
